@sim @lola how? jews, christians and muslims have been living together for hundreds of years in peace, and they do so today in most places except palestine.

@lain @sim @lola In those cases it is a false sense of proximity. Usually it is cases of a village being completely Christian and a another village being completely muslim

@lain @lola Well, the idea is that if you support palestine then you are antisemitic, if you support israel then you are islamophobic. If you pick neither then often this ends up meaning that you are against them both because you aren't with them. It's hard to be politically neutral these days and that gets lost. This is just what I was thinking about when the question came to mind.

@sim @lola i'd say that idea is wrong. even the idea that you have to support one 'side' is wrong, or that there are only these two 'sides', one vaguely hamas, the other vaguely the israeli government.

@grillchen @lain @lola This is what I would hope to be the answer. That people just want peace and chill.

seriously though a (big) minority did vote for hamas 2005 and a (big) minority did vote for netanjahu.

most people just want to live in peace and chill
