The two Spider-man moments I think of most often are when Doc Ock has transferred his consciousness into Peter Parker and is having fun as Spider-Man and decides to test how strong he is. He punches Scorpion full power without holding back and just punches his jaw clean off, and realises every single fight he had with Spidey over the years he was holding back.

And when Spider-man spends time with Sandman as he’s dying, Sandman’s sat on the beach and knows he’s about to dissolve into sand and Peter just sits with him to keep him company at the end, he decides to take his mask off “the last thing you see shouldn’t be a mask” and Sandman asks him to keep it on, saying he couldn’t take it if he “looks like Chris Evans under there” and in his last moments wished he’d lived a better life.

The first is from The Amazing Spider-Man #700 and the second is from Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man #308 which is just one of the most heartbreaking reads I’ve ever had.

@Itty53 that’s one of them, but he once punched Hulk into orbit, and was able to hold the whole Daily Bugle building up on his shoulders too

I've read theories that put Spidey as the single most powerful superhero in the marvel universe. Citing that, even. I might be misremembering but it may have even originated from Stan Lee himself. I'll have to go dig and find it..
