   @pnathan it's funny because older fedi hands than me will say it's happened like 9 times already, and even so, we ain't seen nothing yet

   I'm trying to enjoy the hell out of this place while it still feels like BBS Era Part 2, because it *will* change

     also I'm sure there are all sorts of security implications and weird emergent properties from doing this, like I said I'm not advocating for it. but once a certain critical mass is reached things are going to get a lot more spammy than they already are.

     I wonder if eventual realities will cause sane instances to band together to form some sort of auto-allowlisting approach to fediblock.

     no admin, especially on small instances, can keep up with manual whitelisting. but what if you could band together with a group you more or less trust, and once n of them decide for their own reasons that a new activitypub domain makes the allowlist, you do too?

     to be clear, I don't want this, but I see it as a possible endpoint of continued network growth.
