     due to the bigger window between epochs and the fact that it coincides with funny imageboard picture naming schemes it's unironically a better way for me to measure periods of my life, like i can describe 1600000000 as being the period defined by fedi and first job and me making new strides to reclaim myself

     @cell @kaia at least from my vantage point when it comes to textboards specifically, most of the ones who were posting when I started using them are very much still around, imageboards are a bit more ephemeral but not by much

     @allison @kaia question - have they mellowed out, or is it due to the perception that things usually tend to be a bit more heated these days that they seem more mellow? at least, from my point of view

     @cell @kaia it heavily depends where you're looking at, some places are conducive to mellowness while others very much aren't while still others (saovq notably falls into this category) are all over the map, both on site and in the communities affiliated with them off-site
