kinda funny if you think about it how we live in a nightmare hellscape where wages have been stagnant for decades and the cost of living is through the roof and also it's become incredibly difficult for people to get hired at shit-tier jobs that pay minimum wage
like we really have created a whole civilization around the idea of optimizing suffering for literally no productive reason

at the end of it all though at least a few mediocre dudes got to hoard wealth that they didn't even spend on opulent stereotypical rich person lifestyles and instead lived in modest San Francisco apartments and wore hoodies and jeans :)

@meltedbrain_y2k working the bare minimum to survive and living with a bunch of people to minimize my expenses is pretty much where I've been at for years now. it's kind of pointless to do anything else imo and the idea of having like an atomized wage slave lifestyle is a relatively recent invention anyways. most of history has been people living communally in some form

@nyx What the fuck is with real estate prices. Why do they keep going up even after 2008? I expect a lot of people to give up on working more than the bare minimum to afford food and stay living with parents forever or squat or live in super-packed shared housing or smth because working full time is just pointless when your labor just can't afford housing.
