@mods I think perfect moderation is this. I love seeing what's effectively a "listen, learn, adapt" loop. I hope you all are proud of this work. I know it's not easy in general, and even harder to be vulnerable via transparency, but I think it's appreciated by most people on the fediverse.

I think none of us is capable of knowing every person, project and bug online. You get a notification that your place is getting flagged as a source of hate speech and you'll want to clean your name asap before it snowballs out of control.
So, in a strange way, both ends of the conflict went through the same.
Rectifying as soon as possible when new information is brought up? That's all we can do in a situation like this.
I kinda try to stay away from drama, and to be honest, tech.lgbt has proven to be a good space for that. The community is great and the moderation team does their thing without too much fanfare, but with transparency.
There's always space for improvement, yeah sure, as in any community, but I don't expect malice or shady behaviour from the staff.
I think this official statement proves it. You really went out of your way to clarify this whole thing 😉👍

@mods Thanks for finally providing a timeline. I was confused when it started going down, especially since Ro and Welshpixie refused to explain or clarify anything (I don't know if they since have, since I've been pretty inactive due to the drama).

We made a couple of corrections to the blog post; we removed speculation in the timeline about the initial bug as our information about it had not been verified, and fixed a poorly phrased line in the response segment.

@mods Thanks for the post, and especially the diligence. There's a couple things that I'd like to point out that to me were important, but weren't mentioned or addressed in the post:
1) the "goodspace" post was one of the big escalation points against TBS in my opinion, and in retrospect it feels like it was an op. Shouldn't it be referred to in timeline?
2) there was also a lot of actual transphobia being lobbed around, and that's important context in my opinion. stuff like blaming white trans women specifically as the main drivers of racism in the fediverse. White people in general are the main drivers of racism here too, and to single out trans women is transmisogyny.
