   Feel like, at 44, I’m now too old to know new slang and fads that young people use without it seeming suspicious, especially as I don’t have kids. I don’t need to know what skibidi toilet or fanum tax are, but here we are.

     @BethanyBlack Do you also feel (Ir)rational anger at what sound like stupid words? Like "Drip", or "Fits" (apparently that means "Outfit") and shit like that? If so, is that a mid-40's thing?

     I have recently made the acquaintance of a 23-year-old (I'm also 44), and at least half our conversation is me asking them to explain what the heck they just said.

     @TacticalGrace_ no, but that is a mid 40s thing, it’s the feeling of your cultural power waning and your political power rising, it’s what leads to “kids today are stupid, my generation had it right”

     @ellenor2000 yeah, these are both gen alpha things that I only know because I follow youtube and TikTok trends, skibidi toilet is huge with gen alpha and it’s the weirdest thing
