This is prelude to genocide. Gaza is an open air prison with 2 million people, nearly half of which are children. The places being told to evacuate include hospitals.
You cannot condemn the barbarism of one group while cheering on that of another.

@aral How nice of Israel to give the forewarning; some would have just gone for a surprise attack, brutal massacre of unarmed civilians and infants, rape, torture, and a healthy shouting match of “god is great” with the lads.

@sorenvictoria As I said, Hamas are barbarians. That said, telling 2 million people, almost half of them children, who are trapped in an open air prison with nowhere to go to leave if they don’t want to be massacred is not “nice.” It is psychological warfare at best and a declaration of genocidal intent at face value.

@aral the part about you lecturing Israel on genocide. Why don't you focus your righteous indignation on the government of Gaza aka Hamas whose official written charter is to kill every Israeli...that is the definition of genocide.

There is no reason, none whatsoever, that justifies the barbarity of Hamas. @escarpment @aral not at all – hamas just reacted the way any military group would to decades of siege and genocide. if anything, this is very much what israel wanted – it gives them an excuse to hasten that genocide beyond anything previously imaginable

@aral It is a shame that Hamas has put their citizens, many of them children, in such a dangerous predicament with their violent and anti-Semitic rhetoric and actions.
Hamas should finally swallow their pride, lay down their weapons, and surrender instead of forcing their citizens to stay in the path of destruction and using them as human shields.

Why are you all taking sides? Hamas has a stated intention of exterminating the Israeli people. Israel has indirectly stated an intention of exterminating the Gazan people. Seems to me that they're *both* genocidal.
