    My interview with @pfefferle about the ActivityPub Plugin for #WordPress is live now.

    This episode is a great starting point for WordPressers who would like to know more about the fediverse. We kick it off discussing the basic concepts of federation, then get into how you can connect your blog to the fediverse using #ActivityPub.

      @kranzkrone @docpop @aral nice read, thanks for sharing!

      But I think mastodon is not build for single usage :)

      While recording this interview #WordPress and the fediverse, I had no idea that Automattic was only a few days away from launching ActivityPub integration for all WordPress.com users.

      Here's a section where I asked @pfefferle about scalability issues that might happen if a large server (like WP.com) suddenly joined the fediverse.

      @docpop
      You should also definitely read the Post from @aral made a while back ago, about scalability Issues from a different Angle.

      @pfefferle @kranzkrone @docpop No, it’s not. But the Small Web is being built for exactly that ;)

        What is the Small Web?
        Updated June 19th, 2023 Sorry, your browser doesn't support embedded videos. But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch it! You can download Small Is Beautiful #23 directly, and watch it with your favourite video player. Small Is Beautiful (Oct, 2022): What is the Small Web and why do we need it? Today, I want to introduce you to a concept – and a vision for the future of our species in the digital and networked age – that I’ve spoken about for a while but never specifically written about:

      @docpop @pfefferle Is this take on WP.com integration & comments only partially federating correct? If so can you work towards full integration so conversations aren't split? https://mastodon.social/web/@michael_martinez@c.im/111222860372340355

        Here's a heads up for #mastodon and other #fediverse users who reply to #wordpress blogs using the ActivityPub plugin. The comments you publish from your fediverse accounts will appear on those blogs (or - at the very least - in the admin dashboard's "Comments" section where they must be approved). If anyone replies to you on the blog, those reply comments will -NOT- be federated, so you'll have to visit the blogs to see if anyone replied to you. And by the same token, if someone in the fediverse replies to your in-fediverse comment, the blog owners will not see your fediverse-to-fediverse followup.
