   @PublicLewdness I'm not sure I would recommend recommending software that really only has the use case of installing proprietary software (for free peripheral software, it's as simple as updating the package version really).

     FOSS firmware/BIOS updater "Fwupd" has been updated to version 1.9.6. This update fixes eleven bugs; adds support for eight new devices; and more. Fwupd is a piece of software that works with the Linux Vendor Firmware Service to give an easy way to update firmware and BIOS for various devices. The firmware and BIOS that the vendors offer isn't always FOSS but Fwupd itself is. The code is licensed using LGPLv2.1. Fwupd can be downloaded through various Linux distros as well as through Flathub as a flatpak.
