even if we accept the qualifiers you use, for the sake of the argument, why do people seem to think one must side with one of two evils, instead of criticizing and rejecting both evils?
@EU_Commission the level of hate against Israel, a state that suffered a brutal terrorist attack sponsored by the Iranian regime, on the comments here is absolutely disgusting. There goes the theory that Mastodon is a more civilized social network, without hate speech... when the target is Jewish people it's as bad as X around here.
@oook You're comparing a sovereign country unter attack with territories that were abandoned by the states around to be used as a weapon against Israel. The right comparison is not Ukraine and Palestine, it's Palestine and the puppet republics of the Donbas. @EU_Commission
The situation is more complex than that. What makes people react is how @EU_Commission is raising the Israel flag while it should have a Palestinian flag raised all year long.
Israel as a country/government has more blood in his hand than the Hamas. It is a terrorist country itself and any person living there, be it jew, christian or muslim, is at the very least passively enabling that.
What happened/is happening is ugly and I lament the suffering and death of people, but this is just one event in a very long lasting war between colonialists and their victims. As colonialists themselves, european should now better.
Besides, palestinians people are suffering as well from this. They are already lacking so many resources and healthcare, IDF army is and will strike back as well as cutting energy supply.
Ukrainians would probably resort to similar tactics as the Hamas against Russia, had they been abandoned like Palestinians have been by EU and USA. Let that sink in.
@EU_Commission I'd love to see the Palestinian flag there for the rest of the year and the upcoming years while the occupying force (Israel) constantly terrorizes the population of Palestine. Where is the solidarity then?
