    @emilygorcenski I live in another country than my citizenship. Is there any reason you need to have two residency countries? Germany (my citizen ship) makes it almost impossible to do that with another close by country, so I argue that my residency is in the other country, which I spend more time in and also try to spend more time abroad as well.

    So just wondering if it would not be easier to use only the one country you spend the majority of time in?
    You are obliged to pay taxes in the US anyway, aren't you?

      @katrinatransfem I assumed Emily has a US citizenship, I never looked into this US tax regulation, but I have friends that complain from time to time about the taxes they have to pay.

      For me, a British person resident in the UK, I am only obliged to pay US taxes on money I earn in or from the US.
      A US citizen has to pay US taxes on all worldwide income. Not sure about someone who is resident in the US but not a citizen.
