You will need to update to the latest Soapbox and Rebased commits. Then create an account on either Sentry https://sentry.io/ or GlitchTip https://glitchtip.com/
You will be given a DSN. Enter it into the Soapbox config dashboard and it will enable error reporting on your site.
@alex@matty this is pretty interesting. if you pay for it like i am you get access to some other interesting stuff (plus teams). it has AI code fix suggestions and stuff too
I'm exploring both Sentry and GlitchTip for this. I don't mind paying for this as long as I'm able to roll it into helping with the development in some capacity.
@matty@graf Nice thing is, you can sign up for both services in 2 minutes. They don't ask you for much. Then you can switch between them seamlessly by simply switching the Sentry DSN in Soapbox.
@graf@matty It can become quite expensive. Which is why it's good GlitchTip (and self-hosted) are options. But starting with Sentry helps you understand how it works and what you're doing.
@matty@alex it's really easy and insightful. and you can configure it with an API key to track CSP violations in case someone is probing ur site trying to be a nuisance you will get notified. I dunno if it's worth 32$/mo (320 yearly) yet but we will see
