     @soatok furry hate isn't just a dark horse for anti-LGBTQ hate because most furries are LGBTQ either, it runs much deeper than that. Furries are fundamentally queer, in the sense of proudly and flagrantly bucking societal norms as to what is "proper", "appropriate", "acceptable", or "normal" in a way that is directly tied to their identity, self expression, and engagement with the world and with community. And they're really really weird (positive!) and different! So, by expressing hatred for furries, people can signal their hatred for people who are weird and different and have identities and self expressions and ways of existing in the world that flout societal norms and expectations without having to explicitly say that or name any of the other groups this would apply to — but everyone knows what someone with a demonstrated hatred for queer people thinks about lgbtq+ people, and they know that too, that's why they're signaling it.
