@Mirk0dex It wasn't the first GNU/Linux distro I installed - I did install ubuntu before, but I used that very little, so ubuntu didn't get me into GNU/Linux (probably because GNOME sucks bad).
I really do not mind tasks with the highest level of difficulty, as long as I can see the next step to take towards completion.
Gentoo wasn't particularly hard to install due to the step by step wiki, the actual hard part was getting the damn GPU to work - courtesy of nvidia (I no longer use or purchase nvidia GPU's (thankfully I've only ever purchased nvidia GPU's second hand), aside from maybe ones that work properly with nouveau). -

@Suiseiseki your first distro GNU/Linux was Gentoo? Wow. How did you not get sick of it and instantly quit?

@Mirk0dex I was instructed to install Gentoo, so I did.
I discovered freedom long afterwards.
