Seahorses are horses (piss_ant@spinster.xyz)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 12:58:46 JST Seahorses are horses The Roman empire meme amused me, because I (a wamen) think about the Roman empire often. I come across it in fiction, I think about it from a historical perspective, from a biblical perspective, and also many conspiracy theories, particularly ones I used to be very interested in, are at least tangentially related to the Roman empire. Whereas my boyfriend ( a man) only thinks about the Warhammer 40K universe. -

Seahorses are horses (piss_ant@spinster.xyz)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 13:09:43 JST Seahorses are horses @GalacticTurtle I am not determined to know how its origin. But I know it has something to do with men supposedly thinking about the Roman empire often, and women never thinking about it. But I've seen the memes go completely off the rails from there and it's been enjoyable. -

Which is bullshit. I know loads of women who are obsessed by (and seriously knowledgeable about) the Roman Empire.
