If you're uploading to #PeerTube, it's important to include tags, because these will make it a lot easier for people to notice your video.
PeerTube tags automatically appear as hashtags on Mastodon, so people searching or following those hashtags will see your video 👍
If you use more than one word in a tag, it will automatically be converted into a single phrase.
(PT tags have always worked as hashtags on Mastodon, but starting in Masto 4.2.0 the tags are actually visible below the video.)

@feditips A while ago, when searching for tags on Mastodon, I got search results that didn't include the tags I had searched for. Those were peertube posts - turns out Mastodon would search for the tags, but wouldn't display them. Unfortunately I don't remember if it was on the web interface or Mastodon for Android...

Yup, that's how Mastodon used to handle them!
But the latest update of Mastodon's web interface does actually show the tags, which should avoid confusion int he future.

@feditips Does it CamelCase tags comprised of multiple words and maintain Capitalization of words in general?

Great question @ricardoharvin , I just had a play around with uploading a new file with capitalised tags and CamelCase on the original as well.
Nothing worked 😞
No matter what you do on PeerTube, it will remove the capitalisation from combined words, even if you've written it in CamelCase to begin with.
I'll file an issue about this on the PeerTube github if there isn't one already.

@ricardoharvin @feditips I can confirm it just mushes multiple-word tags down into one all lowercase, which isn't ideal. Haven't tested capitalising tags on PeerTube itself to see what happens, I'll try it and report back!

When you enter each tag, you type the word or phrase in the video's tags section on PeerTube, and when you've finished you press enter to turn it into a tag.
It requires an enter press because you might be putting spaces into the words for a single multi-word tag.
