     @splitshockvirus Same - it seems it was only a thing as many old plane engines would only work with leaded fuel and until recently, lead-free fuel with the right properties didn't exist.
     
     Too bad such less-toxic fuel is only available at certain airports so it's not available for many of the lead-enriched planes.

     we have an unleaded alternative called GAMI G100UL approved as a replacement for all current 100LL applications but it's only manufactured by one company so its incredibly hard to come by and costs almost twice as much as traditional avgas
