   Trying to get everything sorted out for how I'm going to rack the server. I ordered a USB 3.1 card for the external drive but it isn't here yet. I'll be installing Proxmox tonight and setup for a basic install. I'll then install pfsense as a VM and get the managed 8 port switch setup and the raspberry pi configured.

     @mia I was recommended pfsense by one of the DC engineers which is why I'm going with it, that might be something I'll look into though in the future.

     @disarray@pl.nulled.red btw rather than pfsense, i’d actually recommend using any linux distro with firehol + fireqos

     @kino it's a hypervisor that is opensource, I'm familiar with, has a good API (for future automatic provisioning for VMs), can have multiple servers clustered together, etc. I quite like it.

     @alex @kino @disarray josh had proxmox running with some overly complicated ZFS/thin-slice on the old fedi server. I switched to just manual LXC on top of ext4 for simplicity and performance on the new server.
