stigatle (stigatle@activitypub.stigatle.no)'s status on Friday, 22-Sep-2023 23:22:43 JST stigatle Argh, my son called me in tears, he had lost his phone. I have google family link, so I was able to find out where it was last. I then drove by there after work (my son was still looking for the phone there), I then found it, but someone had smashed it and destroyed the whole phone.
Pisses me off that people cannot just fucking use their brain and think for a minute. That phone ment a lot to him, and was used to call us when he's out and about. And now it's totally destroyed. And it costs a lot of money for a new one, so I cannot just go and buy one.-

simsa02 (simsa02@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 22-Sep-2023 23:22:42 JST simsa02 @stigatle That's truly awful. I hope you could somwehat comfort your son. The double pain of losing the phone and then encounter the rude and inconsiderate act must have pained him a lot. And I guess the latter even more so than the first. It's difficult to react as a parent in this situation: How does one explain willful destruction of other people's possessions, esp. ones carrying so many memories Realizing that the world can be cruel must have been a major blow to him. I'm sorry for you all.

stigatle (stigatle@activitypub.stigatle.no)'s status on Saturday, 23-Sep-2023 03:52:38 JST stigatle He took it well, but understandably sad. He was happy that it was not a new phone. I had a android phone (my previous work phone, samsung s10+) that I now gave him since I switched my work phone to iphone this summer). -

Destruction for the sake of it, instead of just keeping it, or better returning it. Though the later is rare these days.stigatle likes this.
