     @stux A member of a group that was exterminated by the Nazis revealed that she was also a member of a second group that was exterminated by the Nazis (she was sexually attracted to women). That is what they are so upset about.

     Agreed. Shunning is not only powerful, but is a crucial part of the whole •premise• of freedom of speech. We avoid giving government dangerous levels of power to suppress what people say not because every awful thing actually deserves to be heard, but because shunning is far better than policing. Shunning is part of the bedrock of free speech. I did a thread on this a while back; can dig it up if anyone’s interested.

     @mekkaokereke @stux We can’t have a rational debate with them because racist hate isn’t rational. We also can’t shame them into submission because your soul has to have a healthy moral compass to feel shame.

     We can, however, *shun* them and force them them live out their hate-filled lives isolated and alone.

     For the same reason that white kids are "Too young to learn about racism" but Black kids their same age are old enough to die from it. Emmett Till was even younger than Anne Frank. 🤷🏿♂️

     If we look for rational logic or consistent points in these arguments from racists and antisemites, we will not find it. They know that this doesn't make sense. They don't care.

     We don't have to try to find logic in their arguments. There is no logic in trying to teach their children this type of hate.
