After seeing @GalacticTurtle's That Necklace, I wanted to post my That Necklace. Do we all have a That Necklace?

@Mynona We need to start a gofundme under the pretense of paying for some bullshit gender surgery and use it to get you a necklace.

@stingray @Mynona I need a necklace, badly lol 😭 I wanted to buy one on vacation, when I was getting an allowance :eyebrowwiggle: but there weren't any with good chains. I want a shiny chain that will not fucking tarnish!

@Piss_Ant I don't understand how silver tarnishing works. Like I get it on a chemical level, but on a practical level, what the hell.
My necklace is 925 sterling silver. I have another 925 sterling silver necklace from a different jeweler and it gets all fucked up if you look at it the wrong way, but I've been wearing this one nonstop since I got it (the picture is the first time I've taken it off since I got it a few years ago), including while showering and stuff, and it never, ever tarnishes. I have a 925 sterling silver ring from *another* other jeweler that I only take off to clean the back of the gem, and that never tarnishes either.

@stingray I've been chatting with ChatGpt about this all day lol. There's one brand I know that is safe and tarnish free. Pura vida. Their prices are very low but I wore their stuff in Mexico in mud, saltwater, freshwater, shower and no tarnishing. I have a microplated gold chain that's holding up pretty well but it doesn't shine like the day I got it :(
I think Pura vida might use titanium? Also I guess I should say I have only tested their earrings, bracelets, and rings, not necklaces. My sister gives me a butt load of jewelery and clothes lol 😅 and other various items.

@Piss_Ant Oh yeah, I wear mostly stainless steel and titanium earrings because they don't tarnish and don't react to my skin. Stainless is especially handy because it's inexpensive. Most stainless and titanium necklaces I see are chunky/designed for men though, for some reason. Same for tungsten.

@stingray Pura vida titanium jewelery (which sounds kinda cool) but maybe some of it is stainless steel. I don't need a necklace I can wear in saltwater or anything. The earrings and rings are more than enough. But having a necklace that I can just wear normally and have it not tarnish or lose its shine would be nice.
