Comedians you should never ever put any faith in. The reason they're a comedian is due to the core flaw in their identity. They will sell out any principle for even chance of love from authority figures.

Clowns on the other hand learn how to invite others to laugh at them in the hope it will help people enjoy life more.

    Dont trust comedians, trust clowns.

clowns are trying to wrestle with the core identity issues of human nature of why we need to laugh, cry and feel joy and how they can bring that out in people through doing something silly.

comedians are trying to get the most amount of people to like them.

but also when i say "trust clowns", of course no you shouldnt trust clowns, they're natural tricksters, their whole thing is literally making a giant mess out of everything and getting away with it. But in a wider sense yes trust clowns.

@siege you know where a clown stands & the clown’s goals; comedians, not so much- comedians’ self effacement is only in the service of self aggrandizing

@ServerWrestler no, no not really you're thinking of jesters who are clowns. comedians sometimes, especially 70s and 80s comedians rarely really told truth to power, maybe a small part of their gig, but they more often punched down about being fat, being black, being gay, being trans, being gnc, being old, having a disability, being uneducated, othering people.

Comedians are some of the most honest people I've ever met. Comedy has a long history of speaking truth to power. Particularly comedians in the 70s and 80s.

Clowns are people who wear ridiculous make up trying to make children giggle.

@ServerWrestler comedians dont have a long history of speaking truth to power because the comedian still has something to lose, they tell jokes to aggrandize themselves even when they make themselves the joke. Clowns always deface and disgrace themselves and you never know who they are, thats part of the reason they ever have the ability to speak truth to power, they have no power ever, no standing.
