I kind of wonder if they're picking a fight they can't win, or if it's more of a "loyalty test" where you're not a loyal party member unless you believe that your grocery bill is lower since Biden took office.

Don't believe your lying eyes. Or your bank account.

In fact it can easily be both. Inner members of the party are signaling loyalty by believing that the economy has improved under Biden, but this is destroying their ability to reason as a group and then end up making horrifically tone-deaf posts like the above.

The same thing happens to an LLM when you start trying to jam in behavior rulesets about unapproved opinions or topics like racism. It can ruin the AI's pattern recognition to the point where it loses the ability to (as was the example) tell you if a random large number you feed it is prime or not.
Even the degradation of video games was seemingly designed to remove pattern recognition from the experience and trying to force context into controlled narratives.

I just find it strange that they're fighting a strawman this hard. At this point, everyone right of left knows that Trump isn't a real contender. It's like they want their flock to believe it's 2016, but why? Why waste so much energy now? What's going to happen to their flock when Trump is not in the game? Some false feeling of success, or the realization that it's at best a pyrrhic victory? Why not just wait until the GOP finishes its primary and hammer the winner?

@Humpleupagus A lot of them actually think this is really clever. Like the opening post suggests, it's a loyalty test for some and just insanity for others.

And THE WORST THING that can possibly happen to the Democrats is to end up with a Trump / Ramiswamy ticket, because unlike Trump, Vivek IS ambitious and he has the Indian-American elite who will support him. He's one person who can literally reshape the US Federal Government in his image.

AFAIK Trump has a pretty solid chance right now, but it would be so easy to buy him off, give him a chance to look like he's winning, etc.
He is NOT ambitious in the sense of Alexander, Napoleon, or Caesar.
What distinguishes him is that he causes a pavlovian reaction in the left, they lose their minds and start acting utterly irrational in his presence, and end up destroying a lot of their own institutional power.
The author of anarchonomicon calls this an "auto-immune disorder", they attack themselves.
If we have Trump v. Harris & RFK - shut out by the Democrats - makes an independent run, there's no amount of cheating which will give Harris the win.

Harris blows.
