#Apple says it'll issue a software update #for iPhone 12 users in #France after regulators there ordered the suspension of the phone's sale due to breaches of radiation exposure limits.
#Apple says that it is ok to continue to expose users around the globe of their #iPhone 12 to unhealthy levels of radiation. - Will only provide a fix if national regulators order it to do so (e.g. France.)
@HistoPol because politicians aren’t scientists and make laws based on getting re-elected. This has been studied extensively, there is zero evidence that non-ionizing radiation poses a health risk.
"We are exposed to low levels of non-ionizing radiation every day. Exposure to 👉 intense, direct amounts of non-ionizing radiation may result in damage to tissue due to heat. 👈 This is not common and mainly of concern in the workplace for those who work on large sources of non-ionizing radiation devices and instruments."*
(2/2) ...some years back. My former sports partner (smartphone engineer) had worked for the chief engineer of SIEMENS when they still manufactured cell phones. He refused to have a mobile phone himself, stating that it was like "sticking his head into a microwave oven". Looking at the 1st graph, microwaves are also non-ionizing and we all know how hot smartphones can become, too (two unrelated points.) Anyway, ever since, whenever I can, I'm using a headset. So did my tech partner.
@HistoPol yeah. Heat. If the phone were getting hot enough to burn you from the antenna you’d know. It would be hot. The heat generated by the battery charging or the CPU is far higher than what’s generated from the antenna.
