   @cy I know that I, as a trans woman, am most active on the fediverse because other social media sites routinely use algorithmic moderation to flag out existence as “against community standards”, or some such.

   I am so very tired of hearing that it’s a “bug”, every single time this happens.

     The "bug" in this case is a major conceptual flaw in the design, which basically was to create a stupid-simple CENTRALIZED blocklist aggregation tool that had no facility for documentation, review, appeal, auditing, moderation, etc. Basically "minimum viable product" [MVP] applied to a case where applying MVP methodology was guaranteed to cause harm.
