     @rats I don't get it after increasing the open file limit to something very high.

     @rats I'm not exactly sure it's probably because of HTTP keep alive. It has to communicate with all the other servers quite frequently, so it kind of makes sense not to close the connection immediately.

     @r gotcha - it just felt like a very "sweep it under the rug" solution so i wanted to make sure i wasn't doing that :p
