   I had groceries delivered a little while ago. Then I played with my Baofeng.

   The software the Radioddity offers sucks. I could not get Chirp to work. Then I tried the legacy version. That worked. Much better app.

   Now back to my system. Chirp is installed but not working. It just hangs. I think I know what it is. Will try again.

     @PG_Kelly @SirRichard what model baofeng? I have UV-5RA and UV-S9X3 HTs and programmed them both fine on Linux with chirp. The programming cable could be your weak link here

     @SirRichard I didn't get any where last night. Today I got Windows working but I just can't get Linux to work. It just sits there and does not hang or give messages.

     I'll keep trying.

     @PG_Kelly it is probably the drivers for the baofeng usb datatransfer cable.

     it takes a while to get any radio shit working, even on widows because the radios are chinesium and the software and drivers are aids.

     you get used to it.

     @mh I finished this video. Good info. It didn't apply to my issue. It was in the pyPEG.py file.

     The next video that came up was Chirp-Next. I want this! It's not for Linux and I tried installing it on Windows but it wants windows 8.1 or higher. My sister was running Win 7 and would not budge.
