      @SocialJusticeHeals yeah, cops just gotta go; I ain't got all the answers but what we call policing now ain't got shit all to do with crime, and does got everything to do with marking out people it's okay to extract from, exploit, and terrorize, for profit. The whole thing has to go.

      A lot of what we use cops for, we shouldn't even been using them for at all. And once you take that shit away it's like "solving crimes" which cops suck at period so who fucking cares? They got LOW LOW clear rates.

      @AnarchoNinaWrites

      On second thought, unarmed cops that live in the neighborhood would still be highly problematic.

      @AnarchoNinaWrites It's my opinion that cops, if we are going to have them at all, should be unarmed and live in the neighborhoods they police.

      e.g. you want to be cop? Fine, but you can only apply to the department that polices YOUR neighborhood, unarmed, and then can't move.

      Cops would actually care for the people they police because they are the same community they have garden with, bbq with, kids go to school with, etc.

      Poor people living in overpoliced areas, have a very instinctive understanding of power and the exercise of such. Things don't work on pretend there like they do at the office; you figure out who has the POWER to hurt you for reals, and who just wants you to believe they do, very early on.

      Cops? Got the power to hurt you. The guy shouting from his front porch about how soft you are? Ain't. Lot of y'all got it confused, and think yelling from the porch is how you fight.

      No sir, not at all.

      *shrugs*

      Growing up a hood rat is not as glamorous as they taught you; but it does do a pretty good job of teaching you who ain't shit. Indeed, it's sort of a survival instinct; you figure out who talks a lot, and who is just gonna go for the strap.

      Ngl, this has periodically be useful in life when folks who're like Tony's neighbors in the Sopranos start trying to act hard. You know, at the DMV, or the doctor's office, once at a lecture I was giving where security stopped ME, etc...
