What's the deal with "Adobe Digital Editions" books purchased on Google Play? I opened the book with ADE on my PC and now the file is just an unencrypted ePub...?

@jsit It seemed like the normal toolchain (as provided by Google and Adobe) resulted in an unencrypted book, which is my main point of confusion. I wouldn't expect any of these tools to willingly *remove* DRM

@annika I assume you are tech-savvier than me, and I’m only responding because you asked — but I believe this is how it works, and Calibre is good at removing ADE DRM. I hope this is useful information. 👋

@annika Oh shoot I totally misread “unencrypted” as “encrypted” because that’s where my mind goes when I buy ebooks — “I bought this and it’s encrypted?”
Sorry for popping into your mentions unnecessarily
