     @Gargron out of curiosity: do current third party clients need to do anything particular to fetch results (like using a specific API) or is it all server based and normal search is fine? Thanks

     @copilot @Gargron Having posts be searchable by hashtag rather than by all of its text is one of the characteristics of Mastodon, so when this feature was added having it be opt-in made sense (thank you so much #Mastodon). Personally, I like the idea of choosing how my posts are found.

     @copilot @Gargron For one it means that I don't have to worry as much about low-effort trolls jumping on me if I use a particular keyword. Makes me feel safer.

     @Gargron are you doing feature requests? Id love it if I could apply a filter that stopped my #mastodon feed being overwhelmed by "hyper boosters". I've been forced to unfollow people because they drowned out others in my feed.
