    Ants try to eat me every night. @bot @Piss_Ant I wake up with them all over my body. The moment you are not moving they start trying to kill you. There are 100 000 of thousands of ants in garden because they like the soil here.

      There’s something attracting the ants into your house. Do you know where they’re coming in from?

      I’m not sure about ants eating latex, but you’re not eating in your bedroom right?

      The window. But with 38 Celsius it needs to be open. I think latex pillow may be attracting them. Going to try to remove it. They eat latex I believe

      Are you sure they’re not nesting in your bed? It doesn’t make sense for them to be there. Maybe call someone or worst case move your bed away from the wall and put the legs on those moat things.

      @dicey @bot @Piss_Ant

      Right so step one is to move the bed away from the wall and the window. It doesn't have be to be far a couple inches should be enough. Actually this should be standard practice for everyone that doesn't want a random animal crawling into their bed.

      Anyway then you need to observe if they move up the bed legs onto your bed (depends on the material and the ant, right). If so next step is to coat the legs in something that will either prevent them from climbing or repel them entirely. Probably the latter.

      Also why don't you have an AC unit installed jesus why do Euros hate air conditioning so much.

      Yeah but dicey's white.

      >it got to 109F here last year, I am in the states and in a location with cheap electricity because we have a lot of hydro in our state and still survived with only fans for cooling

      I lived through a 100+ heat dome thing a couple summers ago with just a single indoor unit. I'd sleep during the day and get up at like 3 in the morning when it had cooled down to just over 80 degrees. Never doing that shit again.

      @pressure @Piss_Ant @bot @dicey If you have the means and you aren't heat tolerant, then yea, but not everyone has the means, and some people tolerate heat better than others (it got to 109F here last year, I am in the states and in a location with cheap electricity because we have a lot of hydro in our state and still survived with only fans for cooling. I'd love to get a heat pump but that would pretty much require re-wiring my house.

      I get that energy is more expensive in Europe (I looked it up and apparently it's about twice as expensive in Spain as in the states) but if you're dealing with ~100 degree weather for several months out of the year I feel like spending the extra hundred bucks or whatever a month is kind of a no-brainer.

      @pressure @Piss_Ant @bot @dicey Euros hate AC because electricity costs a billion euros per watt-second there owing to all their green energy.

      The grandfather of my grandfather was sami. So I think I have around 3% sami ancestry. (Native Norwegians). He was in a shipwreck and lost his parents but survived by holding on to a rocked formation in ocean and was saved. He was put in foster care and started a bakery business

      @pressure @Piss_Ant @bot @dicey I am 3/4 "white" and 1/4 "native American", Father is German, Mother 1/2 native American (her father was native American) and her mother was of Scandinavian ancestry, Swedish, Finnish, and some Norwegian I think in the mix, more Swedish than the others I think. Anyway I'm mostly white, mostly from regions Northerly, my body temp tends to run low (97.8 if not exercising). But I have no AC. The largest reason for that is that I'd have to have the houses electrical redone entirely, it is too old and not code and only 100 AMP service.

      Oh BTW, there is a misnomer among Europeans that AMP for AMP they get twice the power because they are 240v and US is 120v, this actually is not the case. The US is 240v but it is center-tapped and the center-tap is neutral and ground referenced (physically grounded in some locations other places ground is separate). Large applies go from one-side to the other and thus use 240v, most other items, lighting, small appliances, normal outlets, are 120v and those loads are split across both legs which are 180 out of phase with each other.

      That's actually the best solution separating bed from wall with window. Thanks for advice
