Someone boosted a whole thread of pro-Russia "anti-US imperialism" anarchists promoting a tankie's writing and lamenting getting blowback on kolektiva for being pro-russia and promoting tankie writings. One of them was even talking about how actually nationalizing things is a GOOD thing "while we wait patiently for anarchism to happen." Seriously? Fuck off.

What could go wrong?" (Everything)

There's little difference. And no, the Scandinavian model is not a fucking utopia. Centralizing the provision of medical care, for instance, just means it is far easier to capture and control and lever against social "undesirables" — like what the UK does via NHS to trans people

However restricted and oligarchical that competition is. Plus there is also the grey/black market.

And they always assume that single payer will be implemented perfectly and correctly, and somehow protected from capture by evil or politically motivated people or callus eugenicists. It's the classic goverbmentalist fallacy — assuming that any system you put up will work precisely as intended, as you want it to, and that only good people will end up in charge of the power you're giving away.

Not in every country, but in a disturbing number of them. And even when they aren't, they are often hostile anyway for linguistic reasons.

Nationalising industries gets a cautious "one cheer" from me. It's clearly better than privatisation, but goes nowhere near enough.
