Punk is probably regretting letting Adam Page get away with doing what he did to start this whole never-ending mess. He knows history, looks up to heroes, but didn't learn enough from them. Times were simpler in the 90s. When Shawn went into business for himself in a promo, making serious public accusations about Bret, Bret just kicked the shit out of him and pulled the hair out of his scalp; Shawn ran to Vince and walked out but it blew over. (Being facetious of course...but only just).
In all seriousness, it's still sad to see the workers fighting against each other rather than together, for better rights, regulations, and conditions. Punk said long ago the MMA fighters and also the wrasslers needed to unionise but there were too many "bootlickers." The original AEW EVPs talked a good game on a union, league, or body of some kind at the company's inception, but got distracted by things like, oh, you know, having EVP contracts, likely.
And of course, immediate reflections on the incident from a year ago that began the trial by dirtsheet for CM Punk - but with insight many have conveniently missed (and this was recorded without knowing about Hangman chipping Punk's tooth with a chop in their title match): https://www.patreon.com/posts/87778178?utm_campaign=postshare_creator
