     What you're referring to as #Mastodon is in fact the #Fediverse. You see, Mastodon is just one of my possible software projects that interact with the wider Fediverse through a protocol called #ActivityPub. There are many other projects you can use, Mastodon isn't the only one, nor was it the first.

     As always, the fediverse was really enhanced by GNU - look into GNU social.
     
     Although GNU Social wasn't the very first, it was a significant development.

Having disappointed myself by lacking the math skills to go into stem I’m doing my part to encourage the next gen - I’ve off-loaded a microscope and our kids’ collection of sharks’ teeth onto a 5 year old. (The trilobites are next).

     @Loukas I work on the archaeology of human-beaver interactions. No iconography of beavers but I have looked at use of beaver remains as pendants, tools, etc :)
