     Anyway the woman was in the wrong for asking him what kind of cake he wanted and ignoring him but he was in the wrong for not voicing his discontent in private

     “Birthdays are important to me” is disgusting to me, betrays a selfish mindset. As a grown man you have no reason to care that much other than as a pretext to celebrate for everyone around you.

     “Other people’s birthdays are important to me” is much better, ignore your own but be the one to send someone a little message thanking them.

     Can’t imagine what kind of soft, carefree life you’d have to even care about the diff. in cakes…sounds high maintenance
