   The ability to defederate is one of our best tools and one of the fediverse's greatest features, and a big part of why I've felt safer here these past 6+ years than on any other social network.

     If folks have conerns now. Let's discuss the issue, but I would encourage folks to avoid the name calling and insults.

     The #Fediverse will never survive if blocking servers becomes the default every time some drama happens.

     If there have been moderation mistakes, they can be fixed. The volunteer administrators need time to process this controversy and change will not happen overnight, nor should it.

     For now, I'll hang tight and see how the discussion goes.

     I am a member of Fosstodon and have been pretty happy with the server and it's volunteer moderators/administrators.

     Anyone interested in the #Fosstodon English Only policy discussion, please make sure that you have read this:

     It may not change your opinion, but it will hopefully answer many of the most obvious questions that I'm seeing today.

     To my knowledge there was no significant opposition to this very public policy on a very large server a week ago.
