   @genmaicha @lain governments can continue to rule so long as they have the *capability* of doing so. the will to rule counts for nothing if the government lacks the ability to project force. itś like China declaring the Moon to be sovereign territory of the Peopleś Republic. It can believe it all it likes. Doesn't make it true.

     @lain @genmaicha not the same thing. Taiwan is not claiming they actually control China (an assertion which is easily falsified). They are claiming the legal right to sovereignty over China.
     
     vice versa with China claiming the right to sovereignty over Taiwan.
