Aearil (aearil@soc.punktrash.club)'s status on Sunday, 20-Aug-2023 07:12:24 JST Aearil Was just showing SourceHut to someone I know as a good option for FLOSS projects hosting, and she made me realise it's impossible to find any company info on SouceHut the company, and not trivial either to find where your data is hosted.
(US and Holland, US activities *should* terminate early 2024 apparently).
That's kinda weird for a company offering paid services, especially when making big openness and transparency claims.
I could see making this choice in the name of opsec, but definitely not standard practice (also, info can be found with a bit of digging on the interwebz)-

Like you can see https://man.sr.ht/ops/topology.md for where the machines are.

Drew DeVault (drewdevault@fosstodon.org)'s status on Sunday, 20-Aug-2023 20:29:40 JST Drew DeVault @lanodan @aearil yeah, there are opsec reasons we don't disclose too much. But we keep most of the data in the US and we're working on moving to the EU
