     Does that imply that the two served the same function, except I guess when blocked you get a message saying you are blocked. Or something of the like? I don't really use the platform to be honest.

     My understanding is that if you mute someone, you don't see any of his posts; if you block someone, you don't see his posts and also he doesn't see yours.

     Maybe it works the same way on Mastodon.
