@Kay That wasn't meant to be an attack at any specific person, as much as I was making commentary on how the majority of music hashtags on the fediverse are very white artist heavy when it comes to songs being posted.
Diversity in most of these hashtags is usually minimal at best.

@Kay It's okay. Like I said, it was never meant to be about this specific hashtag... just kind of boiled up over the past months and I finally said something. Just happened to be this hashtag that set me off. Sorry if I came off as pointing fingers at you or anyone specific.

@gnitro sorry for my hasty response. 😳 You're right about the issue of posting bias. Even when posting historically prominent songs or artists there's also the issue of appropriation and we should try to give recognition to where music comes from

@gnitro Have you ever cooked for friends or hosted a pot luck dinner only to have one of the guests get sick from a food allergy? It felt a bit like that. Guilty feelings even there wasn't any intentional harm.

@Kay I feel that. As someone who overthinks a lot, I can feel guilty plenty even when that wasn't the intention.

@Kay Justice can take a long time, but after reading the Oral History book on him, this wasn't that. They talk about how one Police Department in California was trying hard to get evidence, but the Las Vegas police just weren't trying.
It's sad. But one thing I'm glad is the internet and technology has helped more crimes be solved, and more innocent people exonerated on false imprisonment.

@gnitro Justice takes a long time. In Aotearoa New Zealand, a man jailed for 19 years on faked evidence was this week awarded compensation for those years of imprisonment. His family never gave up on proving his innocence.

Many people in the USA seem to be pushing for justice not only for unsolved deaths but also for wrongly convicted people. Probably not unrelated to #BLM and other social movements
