  Get it if you like it, but they’re basically just making you do their job. Modifying watches is frowned upon, it won’t hold any value, but you could buy a nicer watch for less, and modify it yourself. Then make it original again and sell it if you want.

  That’s ok. Watches as a hobby are usually more of a pedigree sort of thing, like cars which I remember you talking about. Ppl want them original. But I bet you there are cheaper options out there.
