     @eris@akko.disqordia.space I guess they're trying to imply she is doing a prevarication by legislating for something that would benefit her but by this rule of thumb, most politicians couldn't make policies that favour people with disabilities because they're retarded themselves...

     @eris Well it ain't like she asked for those debts.
     They tried to use the whole "X had slaves while advocating for abolishment" logic but it doesn't really work when the thing you have was forced upon you.

     Student loans are good debt to have. For AOC it's probably her oldest credit account and paying on time each month benefits her credit score. Paying these loans off when you're in good standing with your loans can drop your score significantly and there's not much reason to do it.
     
     She's also always been on a progressive platform and student loan forgiveness has been core to progressivism for years now. She might be able to pay that debt and be okay and not need forgiveness for herself, but is there really an issue with her pushing to benefit the millions of Americans who are in significant debt that they will never be able to pay back?

     it has more to do with the fact that clearly shes in the position to pay for those debts considering a loan is a risk she took a gamble on school and the idea goes after taking said risk and being in the position after you achieved the goal you wanted you'd start making payments on your loans / pay it off so it doesn't accrue interest
     She graduated with 2 degrees in 2011 and has held a position making 170k a year since 2020
     maybe she doesn't have enough if that's the case why does she own a tesla ?

     @Vinsama keeping in mind that I am deeply critical of AOC for many things, she's often silent when it matters, but this specifically is such a nothingburger and shows Fox News is desperate for something to blast her for since she continues to be their villain of the day
