As a very woke radical leftist I'm beyond tired of hearing people like ... Joe Biden and federal prosecutors(???) called "radical leftists."

They did not. They are not. They did not earn that title! That is mine! We are NOT the same OK?

Anyway, on the bright side, when real radical leftists start showing up what are the republicans gonna call us? "Super duper extra spicy double plus hot crossed buns radical left?" You spent your biggest move! You've got nowhere more shocking to go!

@futurebird The GOP attempt to marginalize median Democrats by labeling them “far left“ has nothing to do with actual leftist politics, just as GOP labeling of things as “critical race theory” has nothing to do with actual critical race theory. It’s just a convenient weapon.

@Octale @futurebird @georgetakei If all one does is vote in state elections, one ought to vote such that the fascists and oligarchs don't win. But if all one does is vote in state elections, that one is a fool. The mathematical structure is inherently unfair.

As a means of peacefully diffusing concentrations of power, and effecting other beneficial changes, state elections have been neutralized in most of the US. That is one less method that is inherently non-violent.

@Octale @futurebird The counter to this ploy is to add more pans to the scales of power. Captain Kirk could beat Khan because he battled using more dimensions in his thinking. A duopoly entrenched in its own binary struggles cannot effectively strategize away from the line that connects its two antipodes. If the playing field is a plane rather than a line, all their proven successful ploys in their arsenals fail in the face of lateral movements.

@log @futurebird ironic that you’d invoke Star Trek, considering just today @georgetakei started with “you have to vote for the Democrat, otherwise they win…” nonsense.
So fingers are already being put on the scales in case working people get uppity.

@futurebird that’s the gag: you’re never getting power, because every time you get close to it, Democrats and Republicans put their fingers on the same side of the scale to ensure it never happens.

      No thank you. I'm good.

I don't understand what's going on with brother West, but I trust he'll explain it in time. I'm a huge fan, but nobody's going to vote for him.

IDK don't make the mistake of thinking that for most people voting is about selecting the candidate with the best ideology. that's being seduced by the false hope of electorialism as a singular and all encompassing solution.

@log @futurebird @georgetakei Great! I'm on board. If your goal is the fascists AND the oligarchs lose, then it is certainly true a correct choice for president in 2024 is Dr. West over either of the major parties. At this point, I'd vote for third parties in all state and local elections as well, but YMMV.
Anyone who thinks electing Biden somehow means the fascists and oligarchs lose is a fool.

@futurebird Conservatives have been calling Joe Biden a communist since before he was elected.

So what does he have to lose from advocating actual communist policy? Never understood this.

@sidereal @futurebird Friends, with money, who are currently funding both parties but might stop funding his.

US election outcomes are highly correlated with campaign budgets.
