     I need Disq users to understand that it's a matter of when we move to a new instance with Pleroma and not a matter of if, and yall can't be mad at me when we do decide to switch and start over.

     @methyltheobromine not if you started the instance as akkoma, only if you migrated an instance from pleroma then you could rollback every migration

     @snacks @eris it's just a few gigs. whenever you need to install packages or backup some files it's such nightmare to do anything on this server. recently I tried to install nodejs to setup something and couldn't because no space. can't even full vacuum like that. "gigs" is not a unit to measure large amounts of memory in 2023

     @wonderfox its been building up a lot of bugs and forcing controversial changes and there's plans to remove features now, and you can't really address bugs with the dev if the dev doesn't like you

     @wonderfox well I used to work on it so a lot of this is anecdotal, but originally Akkoma removed the shoutbox and pleroma chats, then I added an option to help show users when they are blocked to avoid the accusation of "pleroma users block evade" (by not being aware of it) which FG then undid
     
     And then the dev did this blog post saying by November a bunch more options will be stripped

     As far as issues we've had a lot of bugs unique to Akkoma from just having one stubborn dev who does controversial changes, whereas Pleroma gets tested for months before changes are pushed to stable. The most recent bug breaking federation because the dev wanted to force a new version of Phoenix
