Sometimes I like writing a decent song and not recording it or writing it down, ensuring that no one will ever have the experience of hearing it except me.

Seasons of Jason (killyourfm@layer8.space)'s status on Friday, 11-Aug-2023 10:13:49 JST Seasons of Jason @alisynthesis I have a similar notion about taking photos to preserve a memory. In my (possibly warped?) view, if I soak in a nature scene or whatever I'm experiencing with just my eyeballs and don't take a picture, it's as if the experience is just for me and no one else.
It's a partially selfish, and partially beautiful concept.

Seasons of Jason (killyourfm@layer8.space)'s status on Friday, 11-Aug-2023 10:52:22 JST Seasons of Jason @alisynthesis This all struck me pretty hard when I saw Metallica in Paris, and I instinctively pulled out my phone to start snapping photos and videos.
I finally realized... I'm NOT taking those photos for me. Because let's be honest, they will NEVER even remotely capture the experience properly. No, I'm taking them to show other people I was here. Well, screw that. Not everything in my life needs to be shared.
