@taoeffect Same problem on ActivityPub, especially with all the server-level blocking that goes on.
Also an interesting thing about Nostr... is that you can take someone else's event and put it on a relay. So when a user replies to or reposts something, their client often does just that.
@alex@taoeffect can you put your preferred relays on your account metadata somehow, I know you can do that on your NIP-05 .well-known/nostr.json endpoint.
@alex Their client takes someone else's event and duplicates it to all the relays they're connected to, is that what you're saying? Each time they reply to a message?
If so, do relays detect duplicate events and avoid storing them?
What I didn't understand is: 1- who is hosting the instance? 2- does my I stance store data from other I stances? If yes, what data exactly and why? 3- let's say I've banned a user, that user can just view my instance from another instance as if nothing happened? 4- when a user exists on more than one instance at the same time using the same account. How can I moderate them? And who stored their data?
@ahmad In Ditto it works exactly like Pleroma except users can log into any instance with their same credentials. You're still the admin, you can still moderate content.
