Does anyone else here have a Onewheel? And if so, does it nosedive when you’re staying pretty much stationary? Maybe more so when you’re staying stationary on an incline?

Not a huge deal but I’d love to know if it’s expected behaviour or whether I should try and get mine serviced.

      @intermobility Hmm, known issue then?

Usually encounter it when stopped waiting for a light. Seems to stress it out that I’m keeping it stationary :)

@aral it’s not expected. Depending on the model you can adjust it yourself, usually with an app that connects via bluetooth.

@jasongraphix Hmm, I wonder if it’s a function of the incline and battery charge? 🤔

(I don’t have simple stop on; enjoy drifting backwards way too much.) :)

@aral Only if it's such a steep incline that the nose is near the ground. Do you have simple stop turned on? If so, starting to roll backwards could cause it to disengage.

@intermobility It’s never nosedived while moving but I hear you. I like to crave rather than go fast so hopefully could run it out if it ever did but it has made me more cautious.

@aral Well, if it’s consistently out of balance, then you can probably fix it by adjusting the balance by a few degrees. If it usually behaves nicely and only in some situations tips over, then you probably can’t fix it yourself. I wouldn’t trust it anymore in that case. Who knows what kind of strange behavior comes next. If it lets you down, it can hurt a lot.

@masukomi Thanks :) Mine’s never nosedived while moving (and I have plates on but should really practice some nosedives just in case) :)

@aral yes have. no doesn't nosedive except under well known circumstances that they warn about.

That sounds like a defect to me.

Side note: Sonnywheels have saved my bacon from nosedives SO many times. Worth EVERY penny.

@milan @a32 Hmm, never really had any issues accelerating uphill either. Just when I’m keeping it stationary (eg. Waiting at a light, sometimes while holding onto the light and rocking back and forth.)

Mostly like to hug the wheel (helps with carving) so usually have my fleet close to it.

      Appreciate hearing your experience :)

@a32 @aral i find it helpful to have my right foot closer to the wheel uphill (my left one is leading)

@a32 @aral not exactly sure how this is meant, but try to support it by shifting your balance back and dont rush it. it can have a hard time accelerating uphill from zero. try not to start streight up, try to do curves

@aral Weird. Unless the battery is almost dead, it should have enough juice to roll forward to keep you balanced. You could also try riding in Elevated mode, but I hate riding with the nose raised.

@aral anyhow idk how steep or even it is but i find my pintx kinda weak at times in such scenarios ... if its a normal pint its worse i think – no abrupt movements welcome :) @a32
