@Maud_Gonner Yes, I enjoy a wander at the edges. Never learned to swim, am very super sensitive to chlorine, and the only time was ever in the pool back in school a friend, not realising had never been in before ducked me and almost drowned me, never set foot in it again. I’m of the generation who were just starting to learn to swim, most people could not, even the ones at sea all their lives.

@HebrideanHecate @Maud_Gonner You might be amused at the graduation requirements in California high schools in the 1960s: you had to learn to swim. Of the three gym class offerings I had in Riverside in 1969 I chose tennis; the other options were modern dance and touch football.
I miss swimming so much, preferably in Maine's innumerable lakes and ponds, but with an open wound from butchery (surgery) I can't take a chance on picking up flesh-eating bacteria. -

@susansiens @Maud_Gonner I refused point blank to have anything to do with any type of PE stuff in school, in the end did extra art and Latin instead.
Sorry to hear you have that problem.
Seahorses are horses likes this.
