I started purging #xorg / #X11 from my system.
I could not get #sddm to work on #wayland so i removed it.
Now i use dbus-launch.

How so? A login manager has a much greater attack surface than fbcon+getty+login.
A secure way to start wewlad is; if [[ -z $DISPLAY ]] && [[ $(tty) = /dev/tty1 ]]; then exec dbus-run-session sway; fi
Due to the 'exec', if wayland crashes or is terminated, the session will logout. -

cel7t (cel7t@emacs.ch)'s status on Saturday, 05-Aug-2023 22:14:46 JST cel7t @xgqt I currently directly launch Wayland from the TTY, but I'm aware that it's not a good idea from a security standpoint. I haven't used greetd so take this recommendation with a grain of salt, but at the same time a lot of Wayland users I know make use of it.

I might check it out but first I will experiment with gdm.

I tried sway for a while, but I went back to i3 as things just tend to work on Xorg/X11 and I don't get forced vsync.ロミンちゃん likes this. -
